I have been dreaming a lot lately about when we pay off the van. I wanted to get a little red convertible *something* to zip around town in. Lately the dreams have been of little VWs…Jetta, Beetle, Cabrio….something like that. This past Saturday, I was at the home of one of my scrapping friends and she took me out to her back yard to see her flowers. While there, she was showing me her cars. (She and her husband are ‘car people’.) In her collection, was my dream car. Literally. A 1971 SuperBeetle Convertible…Christian Dior Holiday red. (She had the color custom mixed.) The next thing out of her mouth…”We are about to put an ad out to sell it.” Really?!?!?!?!?! Are you serious?!?!?!?! And she was. I almost cried. I asked her to put off taking out that ad until I talked to Wade about it. Half hoping that he would understand my ‘dream’ and half dreading the “no” that would come. But the “no” didn’t come. He said “we’ll talk about it” and we did. We went yesterday to take it for a little test drive. And the big man approved. I am GIDDY. GIDDY. We will be picking up my little beauty by the end of the week. She does need a little bit of work, but I am ready for it. I’m thinking that by the time she’s paid off, she’ll be living up to her full potential. For now…I will leave you with some pictures of my little bug. *grin*
