Pity party.

(why are all of my parties of the sad/bad type lately??)

The list is up… and my name is not on it. Yep. I’m totally bummed. Completely bummed. I had a good cry. It’s hard. It’s so hard to keep putting yourself out there (design team tryouts, magazine submissions, contest entries, etc.) and keep getting knocked down. I asked Wade tonight, “When does ‘when at first you don’t succeed, try, try again’ turn into ‘Quit banging your head against a brick wall’??” I’m walking this thin line, I think. I have many AMAZING friends and family members who support me and give me much encouragement. I am so grateful for them. I am certain that without them, I would have quit a long time ago. I also know that most of this vent is coming from pure raw emotion. And I know that time helps. But this one is going to hurt for a while.

So…while I was waiting for the list to come up, I did finish a layout today. I’ve been working on it for way too long. It was supposed to be done three weeks ago for our journaling challenge. Oh well…better late than never. And I do love these pics…

  1. Hey I am totally the Susan Lucci of design team tryouts…so we can wallow together! You’re NOT banging the brick wall yet, no way! Believe me, you have what it takes, and the opportunity to prove it is still out there. Hang in there, chica.

  2. Heather,
    A wise person once said,
“All we are is just another brick in the wall”
“Wrong!” Guess again! “How can you have any pudding if you don’t eat your meat?”
ROUGHLYTRANSLATED(how can you win if you don’t ever play?)
Or…at the obvious risk of sounding “Clee-shay”,
“A WINNER NEVER QUITS AND A QUITTER NEVER WINS”
    >You may quote Eddie Rabbitt I’ll defer to Billy Joel:
