So, you know when you are at the top of a roller coaster and you’re looking down that first big hill? Yeah. Keep that image in your mind for later…
Sunday we took the boys for their first snowmobiling adventure. We went with our friends Robin, Jon and Logan so each of the four boys had a grown-up to ride with. We get to the place and start gearing up. What a crazy 20 minutes! Snow pants, scarves, boots, mittens, hats, sunglasses, snow coats, and helmets…times five. LOL! Once we got all geared up, it was outside to take pics. Here is one I took of the four boys before our tour guide came out…
So then our guide comes out and instructs us on the machines. Easy enough. And then we go down to the practice track. He tells us we need to get up to 25 MPH on the straights…LOL! The straights were so short, there was barely room to gun it up to 25 before you had to slow down to turn, but Benji and I managed to hit 25 a couple of times. From there…on to the trails. We wound our way through the trees up to an abandoned mine. We stopped there and took some pictures. Here is one of our whole group…
Wade and I took this time to switch passengers. I was afraid that Benji was going to fall off the back of me, but he couldn’t ride in front of me because I couldn’t see over his head. heehee. Avery was a much more stable passenger. Thank goodness we switched because the next leg included some really big bumps going *really* fast through an open meadow. We then took to some steaper terrain, and found ourselves at the top of Georgia Pass. Really pretty up there. You could see all the way to Pike’s Peak 90 miles away. The tour guides had made an igloo back in the trees that the boys really enjoyed playing in. You had to get on your belly to get in the door! Here are some pics from the top…
The igloo…
A Benji beefcake pic…
The whole fam at the top…
Now for the roller coaster part. You remember that steep part going up…? Well, we had to go down. And it was really like looking down the first hill of a roller coaster. The boys loved it, of course. I could hear the squeal of glee from Avery behind me.
In the end…the sign at the snowmobile place says it all…
OMG, what a fantastic experience for the boys (and I’d be buzzing if it were me), I don’t think we have anything like that here in New Zealand.
Heather,
What fun that must have been for all! It really makes me wish for snow!! So glad you are back to posting again……I sure enjoy keeping up with the Harrells! And your pictures are an added bonus!! You are a great Mom and you have a wonderful family. I am proud of you girl, and I love you. BTW, in that first picture of the boys, Tyler totally looks like you did at that age!;-)

Gorgeous pics Heather! We haven’t been snowmobiling since before Riely was born and this totally makes me want to go! (If only for the hot chocolate & Bailey’s afterwards!!)
