And a great big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my baby boy Benji. Four years old doesn’t sound much like a baby, though. Man does that make me sad.
So…it’s a new year, and with a new year comes resolutions. I am going to make some this year, but I’m not going to write them all here right now. Our first journaling challenge for the year is to make a page with our resolutions, so I will be sure to share that with you when it is done. I do want to tell you all that I intend to be better with the blog now that the holidays are over. We had a couple of crazy storms that slowed us down and then we had company for the holidays, too. Grandma and Grandpa made it in and out and had great fun in between.
Now…hang on to your hats, ladies and germs. I have 8 (yes, 8 ) pictures and one scrapbook page for you see today! Yay!
First will be in response to my other goal this year. I want to take one photo a day. For the whole year. Definitely a challenge, but I’m going to try! This is a picture of my birthday boy being his silly self…
Next, I have a couple of pictures of Benji with his Curious George cake. This year, DADDY made the cake. He decorated it and everything! Go, Daddy! We celebrated with friends this past Saturday…
Traveling back in time a bit… The Saturday before Christmas, we took the boys to see Santa at the mall. This year was much smoother than last year.
One of the exciting things we did while Grandma and Grandpa were here was to take the boys ice skating. Technically, Grandma and Wade took the boys skating and Grandpa and I sat on the sidelines and took pictures. heehee. Benji took one turn around the rink and he was done. Tyler and Avery could have stayed out there all day if we would have let them. They loved it!
And finally, my layout to share. My local scrapbook friends and I challenged each other to a “progressive layout.” We each took turns choosing the next step on our pages without seeing the other pages or knowing what the others were doing. It was so fun to see how different each of our pages came out in the end.
And that is the end of my novel for the evening. Stay tuned for more tomorrow!
Happy New Year!
Thanks for starting 2007 with such a visual treat!
As usual, the pictures are great. You’ll have
to give me some lessons before we go to the ice rink with cameras next time. My shots were not worthy of printing nor sharing. Think I need to brush up on setting faster shutter speeds.
The birthday cake looks great. Looks like Wade has discovered a new talent, and Benji was pleased, too! 😉
Love,
Grandpa & Grandma
Happy New Year! The pictures are great…. Wade, I am impressed with the cake you baked! Wow!!! So your talents go beyond computer technology? Lol. And Heather, I have really enjoyed this site. Great job!
Cindi
That is one talented dad to decorate that cake. I couldn’t even do that!
